        Web Developer, UX/UI Designer

        Moved to Calgary in 2016 and started freelancing since then. In the progress, I’ve acquired some new skills and professional knowledge such as VueJS 2.

        • Completed a last-minute custom website project for a media firm by turning their design into a pixel perfect theme with easy-to-update custom fields.
        • Designed a custom bilingual (Chinese / English) website for a client based in Winnipeg, and hooked it up with Ali Cloud, which it’s easier for access in China.
        • Built a comprehensive education project for a client from scratch, including UX/UI, custom front-end with SCSS, and integrated with back-end Laravel framework.
        • Developed two customized, feature-packed info websites for a client who won two Emmy awards with extremely high standards and unique styling.

        My partner and I ran a boutique design studio back in 2014. We worked with many well-known companies/organizations in Winnipeg including Mondetta (one of Canada’s most renowned clothing brand), Winnipeg Chinese Cultural Center, Car Dealership, Banks, Grocery Store, Restaurants, Medical Centers, Immigration Agency, etc. We provided a one-stop solution for all their marketing material needs.

        • Taken care of all graphic/web-related tasks but assigned subtasks to interns.
        • Communicated with clients and provided a practical, elegant solution to their needs based on their budget and expectations.
        • Full branding package including logo, business cards, letterheads, stationery package and website for a few local new ventures.
        • A Street View Trust Pro authorized by Google to take Google Business Virtual Tours.

        Key Achievement:

        • Lead role for UX/UI design on a large scale social media startup project.
        • Successfully developed working MVP (minimum viable product) that uses Laravel framework for front-end with PHP and JS, Gulp, Webpack.
        • Custom SCSS styling written with BEM naming conventions.
        • Integrated front-end to the back-end in AJAX with REST conventions.

        Graphic Designer

        Joined IDO Media as a Lead Graphic Designer. IDO Media is a Winnipeg-based agency focused on connecting the local communities to the mainstream market.

        • Designed and developed several websites with full features for clients based on their actual needs and budgets.
        • Designed all sorts of graphic works from full sets of stationaries, magazines, info booklets (300+ pages), newspapers, posters, to restaurant menus, etc.
        • Designed visual materials for a Candidate running for local city councillor and successfully helped him win the seat.
